I'm certified in the Sci/ART method of personal color analysis. This method is a highly structured, in-person approach that focuses on observing how your natural features respond to color when all external variables, like lighting and background, are neutralized. I use 6500K full-spectrum, flicker-free bulbs with a CRI of 95 so the colors we see are as close to natural daylight as possible, but in a controlled and consistent way. I don’t use natural daylight coming from the windows because it can vary too much (clouds, time of day, shadows), so this setup gives us repeatable, accurate results. I also use neutral gray to neutralize the space instead of white, because white can reflect light and distort how the colors show up on your face.
How is your Sci/ART method different from House of Colour?
I get this question a lot. To have the space to properly answer this in detail, please visit this post:Sci/Art vs. House of Colour
What result are we looking for during a color analysis?
The result you will get from your color analysis is a color palette that will objectively allow you to appear clearer, brighter, and more defined.
How can color analysis help me in different areas of my life?
A lot of people come in thinking color analysis is just about picking pretty colors, and they leave with a completely new understanding of how color actually works for them.
When you know which colors support your natural features, something shifts. Getting dressed becomes easier. You stop second-guessing your choices. Your closet becomes more cohesive, intentional, and functional. It saves time, reduces decision fatigue, and helps you make better purchases that actually get worn.
But the impact doesn’t stop there.
Clients often tell me that once they start showing up in their best colors, they feel more confident at work, in social settings, on camera, or even just running errands. They begin to own their presence. They start to feel more comfortable not only being seen by others but also being seen by themselves.
Color analysis often becomes the starting point for a ripple effect. It helps you make more empowered choices in how you show up, spend your money, and move through the world. It’s a practical tool for deeper alignment.
What will I leave the color analysis with?
You will leave knowing which colors harmonize with your visual presence and help you appear brighter, clearer, and more defined. Depending on which format you have chosen (Essential or Signature), you may also receive a 78-color palette fan printed on archival-quality canvas, a lip palette with 20 harmonized reds, an eye palette with 20 eye-enhancing shades, a wallet card for on-the-go palette reference, a mini tutorial to help you use your tools practically and confidently, and an understanding of how your personal items (jewelry, makeup, clothing) you brought in from home compare and fit into your new color palette.
What's the difference between the Essential and the Signature?
The Essential session is a more focused analysis where we determine your color season and teach you how to use your palette tools. It’s a great option for those who mainly want clear answers about their color range and feel comfortable integrating that knowledge on their own.
The Signature session includes everything from Essential, plus additional time to explore your palette more deeply and how it connects to your lifestyle. It also includes additional color strips to add to your fan (harmonized lip and eye makeup palette), as well as a mini in-studio closet edit where we look at items you bring (jewelry, makeup, clothing, etc.) to help apply your colors to real life and start the editing process. Afterward, we also take some time to explore makeup options in the boutique side of the building.
Simply put, the Essential session is for people who mainly want to know their color season, while the Signature session is for those who would like to spend a little more time exploring how their colors integrate into their everyday life.
The Signature was the format I began with and has been the most loved by clients but the Essential was created for the people who either didn’t have that much time and/or didn’t need the deeper dive.
Can I get a color analysis if I have permanent or semi-permanent makeup?
If you wear permanent or semi-permanent makeup (i.e., tinted eyebrows, microbladed eyebrows, lash extensions, false lashes, tattooed eyeliner, lip blushing, etc.), please know that these enhancements can influence how your natural features are perceived during the analysis.
You’re absolutely welcome to come as you are. I’ll still be able to guide you toward the most harmonious seasonal palette based on what’s visible, and I’ll make note of any enhancements that might affect contrast or undertone. I’ve worked with many clients who wear permanent makeup, and the insights gained from your analysis will still be practical and valuable for everyday life.
Can I get a color analysis if I have a tan?
A natural tan will NOT change your season. It may deepen your surface tone, but your undertone, the constant we analyze during your session, remains the same. Your best colors will stay consistent.
However, a spray tan/false tan WILL affect your results. If you’ve recently had a spray tan, use self-tanner, bronzing drops, or glow serums, I recommend waiting until it fully fades (about 2 weeks) before booking your session. These products often deposit artificial warmth or bronze tones onto the skin, which alters how your skin interacts with color and can lead to misleading results. If you’re unsure whether your tan will impact the analysis, feel free to reach out before booking, and we can assess it together.
In general, the more natural your appearance at the time of analysis, the more precise the result will be. That said, if enhancements are part of your daily life, it’s still completely possible to identify the season that aligns best with how you show up in the world.
